With the GHMC elections to be held on December 1st, the Model Code of Conduct has been enforced by the Telangana Election Commission. Telangana Police on Tuesday inspected the convoy of Nara Lokesh, the National General Secretary of the TDP as he was about to leave for Vijaywada, in the wake of the Model Code of Conduct enforced ahead of the GHMC elections. The TDP MLC was about to leave his Jubilee Hills residence when the convoy was stopped. The police personnel have intensified searches at all places in Greater Hyderabad since the election schedule had been announced.
On the other hand, it is known that the TDP is contesting in 95 seats in the upcoming GHMC polls. The Telugu Desam Party considers this election as a matter of its prestige. TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu mulls restoring the lost glory of the party in Telangana through these elections. Accordingly, the TDP candidates are leading the election campaign in every possible manner. However, the issue of Nara Lokesh’s convoy being stopped for checking by the Telangana Police, when he was about to leave for Vijayawada has become a trending topic of discussion.
