PM Narendra Modi in his address during the national conference on vigilance and anti-corruption, via video conferencing, gave a clarion call to end corruption in India. Now, the speech reminds us of Kamal Haasan’s dialogues from the 1996 flick Indian. The PM in his speech said that dynastic corruption passing through generations has eaten away the nation just like termites do, and is a major hurdle for development.
“Be it corruption, economic offences, drugs, money laundering, terrorism or terror funding, all these are connected to each other. So, we need to work together with holistic approach against corruption, through systemic checks, effective audits and capacity building and training,” PM Modi said, adding that its time for India to leave behind an era of scams.
Is it possible for YSRCP to join NDA?
Given the speech by PM Modi to end corruption in India, it is not possible for the YS Jagan led YSRCP to join the NDA. It is known that there 31 criminal cases pending against the YSR Congress Party president as per the affidavit filed by him. On the other hand, some media houses even speculated to the extent that the YSRCP would be given three ministerial posts in the cabinet.
Well, it has to be seen whether PM Modi acts according to his words or is it just for namesake.
