Film industry is one among the most affected sectors due to COVID-19 as it made life a struggle for the people dependent on it. With no shootings, workers of 24 crafts left to their villages and theatre staff became daily labourers. But big stars and established directors are said to be enjoying the free time in their large mansions now. According to sources, ace directors like Rajamouli, Koratala Siva, Sukumar and Harish Shankar utilised this lockdown and devised innovative business plans.
These directors are providing scripts to other directors for which they will act as co-producers. This trend is picking up in Tollywood now. Sukumar is co-producing ‘Uppena’ and ’18 Pages’ and is planning to associate with some other projects soon. Harish Shankar attracted the media’s attention with the announcement of his upcoming film with Power Star Pawan Kalyan. He is currently presenting a film called ‘Vedantam Raghavayya’ with Sunil. He penned the script for it and ’14 Reels +’ banner is producing it.
Trinadh Rao Nakkina who directed hits like ‘Cinema Choopista Mava’, ‘Nenu Local’ and ‘Hello Guru Prema Kosame’ is going to direct a crazy project. Blockbuster director Anil Ravipudi penned the story for this soon to be revealed film. Rights of the super hit Malayalam film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ were bagged by ‘Sithara Entertainments’ banner and Trivikram Srinivas is said to be penning the Telugu version for this film. Guruji is tweaking the original script to suit to our nativity for this yet to be casted film. While Koratala Siva is busy selling his advice to other projects in script matters, Vamsi Paidipalli, Nandini Reddy, Deva Katta and Siva Nirvana are also following the same route.
