The suspense over who will be the party’s candidate in the forthcoming graduate elections in the state still continues. So far none of the parties have announced their candidates. However, unofficially, it is already known who the candidates are and there is a debate among the respective parties as to when the names will be officially announced.
Strategy for winning ticket…
The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi considers elections as a prestige issue and in MLC elections the candidates get votes regardless whichever the party they belong. Also, candidates are devising their own internal strategies such that they get the ticket themselves.
Do not announce names…
Though the TRS has internally finalized its candidates for the Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda seats, the MLC candidates are reluctant to reveal their names as they are worried about bearing the polls campaign expenditure. Hence, they have requested the party high command not to announce names till the end of the nomination period. If the name of the candidate is announced, he / she should participate in the campaign from that date.
Easy for ruling party to win votes…
The contesting candidate is confident that people will definitely support the ruling party. Despite not campaigning loudly, he seems to be getting votes as a person who stands for the party. Apart from that, it is hoped that the task will be easier for the leader as KTR will automatically take over the responsibilities of the MLC elections. Apart from that, KCR also wants to expedite the enrolment process by conducting constituency-wise review meetings.
