It is common for active politicians to comment on one or other subject. They frequently make observations against their political rivals too. One such politician in Telangana is Congress MLA Jagga Reddy.
The maverick leader is known to blow hot and cold on ruling TRS. His comments sometimes can be interpreted as favourable to the ruling party. Other times he is as sharp as he can be in his attacks on the pink party. Now he described TRS MLAs as ‘dummies’ who cannot get problems of people sorted out in their own constituencies. His comments on the helplessness of ruling party legislators triggered a debate among people. There is already talk of even ministers finding it difficult to get an audience with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Jagga Reddy’s remarks give further credence to the opinion that TRS MLAs have no real power.
Six-day fast
It is felt by many that TRS is KCR’s family party. It is believed that no MLA or leader will have any advance knowledge of decisions taken by KCR except his family members. Only those who are chosen by KCR, or members of his coterie and his favourite circle of legislators or leaders will have knowledge of party affairs.
If the situation of ruling party MLAs is so miserable, Opposition MLAs are questioning on how they can get an appointment with the Chief Minister. Jagga Reddy is raising his voice on the same issue. He complained that he has not been able to get CM’s appointment to even discuss issues of people. Jagga Reddy is now able to raise problems of his constituency only on the floor of Assembly. He warned of taking up a six-day fast if the Chief Minister does not address the issue of medical college in his Sangareddy constituency. He vowed to confront the government on all the public issues in the House adding that all problems would have been solved if the Congress government was in power.
