The TPCC working president has once again made sensational comments. He said that there was a role of TRS in the appointment of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy as the incharge for Tamil Nadu elections. Stating that the Tamil Nadu intelligence teams were touring Tamil Nadu, he demanded an inquiry. Two days back, his comments on the ‘one nation one election’ have turned a topic of intense political debate.
Revanth Reddy has said that the country would get divided if one nation one election is held and that the BJP was trying to bring a presidential form of government. In this scenario, there will be no need for strength from the southern states. He said that the BJP was trying to divert the funds from South India. The Centre collects Rs 1 as tax and gives Rs 2 back to Uttar Pradesh. Whereas it takes Rs 1 rupee from southern states and gives 65 paise back. He had reiterated that though Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is from the south she is a puppet in the hands of Prime Minister Modi.
There is a talk among the political circles that Revanth Reddy would not make any comment unless he has some indications. There is a discussion going on whether there is some information with the Congress leader. In the South, the BJP has a government along with its friendly alliance. In Karnataka there is a BJP government in Tamil Nadu there is a coalition government. In other states, there are regional parties. Kerala has LDF, AP has YSRCP, Telangana has TRS. There is no Congress in these states. The elections are going to be held in Tamil Nadu and Kerala this year and the comments have become crucial now. At a time when there is a talk that the Centre was neglecting southern states, the comments of Revanth Reddy are seen in the direction of sentiment. There are chances of Revanth Reddy campaigning in Tamil Nadu for MP Jothimani. With AIADMK and BJP having an alliance, the southern sentiment has come to the fore.
At the same time, Revanth Reddy tried to corner the TRS. There was an injustice to the state in the budget. Earlier the TRS used to attack the BJP but now they are not speaking. It appears he has targeted both TRS and BJP projecting both the parties were same.
