If we ask the children of this generation as to what they aim to become, they would say either a doctor, engineer or pilot. But none would say a politician. Most of them do not even know that politics is a career option too. Most of the youth who enter into politics are those who have a political family background, but none of the youth without a political history can be seen making an entry. Also, the number of youths trying hard to actively enter politics from the college level has been very bleak in this generation. However, in this scenario, a 23-yr old woman has taken a bold step forward into the political world. At the same time, it must be noted that she isn’t an illiterate but completed her B.Tech. Girija has taken the courageous move to contest as a Sarpanch from Andukuru Village in Guntur District. She is brimming with confidence that she can defeat the ruling party.
Not new for Telugu Desam Party
The Telugu Desam Party was founded with the sole aim of empowering the common man. In the good old days, NTR himself handed party tickets to strangers who had the zeal to do good to society. Today, when we look at any party one, can witness leaders who have had their origins from the TDP, also it is the only party where equal importance is irrespective of bias to gender. Not just in words, the TDP has always strived for women empowerment. The same has been proven in the AP Gram Panchayat Elections with Girija contesting as a Sarpanch.
Best wishes to 23-yr-old D Girija (B. Tech), who is contesting for the post of Sarpanch at Andukuru Village, Guntur District. For a young nation like ours, participation of youth in politics is essential. Girija is leading by example! All the best Amma! pic.twitter.com/E7Nm8MLycJ
