YS Sharmila explained in the Sankalpa Sabha that we are going to form a political party to bring Rajanna rule in Telangana and why the party had to be formed. Sharmila recalled that YS Rajasekhara Reddy had initiated a scheme to provide free electricity, loan waiver to 50 lakh farmers and irrigated crore acres. Sharmila alleged that KCR is spending Rs 2 lakh crore to cultivate crore acres today by destroying the Chevella Pranahita project which YS had initiated with Rs 37,000 crore to provide irrigation water to crore acres. KCR said the focus on commissions was not on the welfare of the people. She reminded that KCR had cheated the farmers by giving a loan waiver guarantee. She recalled that YS had given loans to farmers at very low-interest rates back then.
Sharmila announced that the party was working in Telangana to bring back all the welfare schemes implemented by YS. Sharmila said that KCR, which offers free education from KG to PG, is not giving fee reimbursement beyond Rs 30,000 and the party is questioning it. She asked KCR whether these layers have the patience to listen to people’s problems. She was critical that KCR was the only CM who did not come to the secretariat. Sharmila questioned why the secretariat, which he did not want, was demolished. She had criticized those who said that 6,000 farmers had committed suicide even after the conquest of Telangana. Sharmila expressed concern that Telangana was second in the country in farmer suicides.
