Political experts have opined that the arrest of TDP AP President, former minister and Srikakulam’s Tekkali Assembly Constituency MLA Kinjarapu Atchannaidu as a strategic plan by the ruling YSRCP. The TDP lambasted the ruling YSRCP government for apprehending K Atchannaidu in a bid to dent Telugu Desam’s active presence in the wake of the upcoming Gram Panchayat elections in the state. The move to house arrest top TDP leaders is to instil a sense of fear among the TDP cadre. The Opposition also alleged that the entire plan has been directed by AP CM YS Jagan and YSRCP RS MP V Vijayasai Reddy.
No YSRCP workers in Nimmada
Nimmada in Kotabommali district of Srikakulam has been a stronghold of AP TDP Chief Kinjarapu Atchannaidu for the past 34 years and his family members have been ruling unanimously. Now, the YSRCP looks to target Nimmada in the wake of AP Gram Panchayat elections. The irony is that the YSRCP doesn’t have any workers in Nimmada and in the previously held Parliament, Assembly elections the party won just six votes. Overall, when there are 2,200 voters in the village, they have always been unanimously voting for the TDP. In such a scenario, the political experts believe that there is no chance for the YSRCP to back a candidate to contest for the post of Sarpanch. Now, the YSRCP has planned to create a rift within the Kinjarapu family by taking advantage of the situation.
YSRCP’s plan to create a rift in Kinjarapu family
It is learnt that Duvvada Srinivas, the YSRCP incharge of Tekkali had spoken with Kinjarapu Appanna, a relative of Atchannaidu. This has led to speculation that Appanna would be contesting for the post of Sarpanch as the YSRCP-backed candidate. Now, Duvvada Srinivas anticipating that Appanna would not be allowed to submit his nomination got outsiders and created havoc. Meanwhile, Appanna’s father and brother met Atchannaidu. It was then that Atchannaidu had spoken with Appanna over the phone, and nowhere did the AP TDP Chief was seen threatening or intimidating the YSRCP-backed candidate. TDP workers allege that the YSRCP leaders registered cases of alleged threatening and intimidation against Atchannaidu in an unjust and unfair manner. Following this, Appanna was not to be seen in his village, and it is believed that the YSRCP is shielding him.
