Megastar Chiranjeevi pinned heavy hopes on his previous Pan-Indian outing Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy directed by Surender Reddy. Chiru roped Amitabh Bachchan, Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathi, Jagapathi Babu, Anushka, Nayanthara, and Tamannaah into this ambitious project which remained a dud in every other language except Telugu.
Ram Charan who produced Sye Raa reportedly experienced losses worth Rs.70crores. This made Surender Reddy return back to square one. Even though he tried to start a film with Prabhas and Bunny, they rejected his proposal. He is currently helming a film with Akhil which is a spy-thriller. Star writer Vakkantham Vamsi is penning the script for this film which is touted be in the lines of The Bourne Identity. The makers are lavishly spending on this Akhil’s fifth outing.
