The decision on the appointment of Telangana PCC is likely to be delayed further. It is learnt that the Congress high command has taken this decision after a senior leader from the party wrote a letter to the high command. The leader has expressed concerns that if the PCC is appointed, the other leaders may not support in the ensuing bypoll. However, there are many reasons for the postponement.
There was a campaign that the appointment of Jeevan Reddy as TPCC chief was almost certain as the Congress leaders in Delhi gave such leaks for the last two days. His followers lined up before his house since yesterday evening and also on Tuesday as it was his birthday.
However, after 24-hours of giving leaks, the Delhi seniors changed their decision. As per the earlier decision, it was said Jeevan Reddy would be PCC chief in Telangana and Revanth Reddy would be campaign committee chairman. Here, the senior leaders expressed their objection over all the posts being given to the people from a particular community. The leaders seem to have told that if all the posts are given to Reddys, they will search for other options.
As everyone was thinking that all was settled, the leaders gave headache to the high command. The party convinced all that Revanth Reddy will be given campaign chairman and veteran leader of the party would be given PCC chief’s post. Analysts say that there is more democracy in the party and there is no dearth of twists in Congress. The political experts are expressing doubts that the leaders are killing the party which is on death nail. The cadre is expressing doubts as to when the PCC will be announced and when the party will be back on track. No one is opening their mouths when asked whether it was possible to have a consensus candidate.
