Is there a sense of unhappiness and sorrow among the YSRCP cadre over the volunteer system turning active? Two YSRCP leaders raised the same issue. They made the comments in front of Coastal Andhra incharge and important leaders have led to a discussion within the party and also among the people. The comments of Dharmana brothers Krishna Das, Prasad Rao are being discussed in Srikakulam district. The brothers have openly said that a few decisions taken after the party assumed power has gone against party activists.
The gist of their comments was that though the welfare activities were getting a good name, the YSRCP cadre is unhappy with the volunteer system. The leaders who praised the volunteer and secretariat system are now talking about the same. A year ago, in a meeting of the party workers in Srikakulam, Dharmana Prasad Rao had raised this issue. However, his brother Krishna Das had a different opinion and said that the cadre was happy.
Generally, people used to approach the ruling party workers to get their issues solved. During the TDP regime, there was a huge demand for Telugu Tammullu in the Janmabhoomi program. Now with the introduction of the volunteer system, the people don’t need volunteers. They are approaching volunteers for their need and getting their work done in secretariats.
Earlier, when the ruling party leaders were seen, people used to interact with them and greeting them but now such scenes are not to be witnessed. There is no work or identification for the cadre now. MLA Dharmana Prasad Rao had expressed the same opinion. Maybe his brother Deputy Chief Minister Dharmana Krishna Das realized this and came in the line of Prasad Rao. The comments of both the brothers at a party meeting held in Srikakulam that the YSRCP leaders were unhappy led to a discussion.
The comments of Dharmana brothers gained importance as these were made in front of the Coastal Andhra incharge Vijay Sai Reddy. There is also a debate whether these comments are made strategically or to fill in confidence among the workers. It has to be seen how the high command would respond to this.
