The person who was to make an announcement regarding the new political party has taken a U-turn saying he has dropped his plans about electoral politics. Rajinikanth is not an individual but a force. He has a name where he can influence the crores of people just by using his hand symbol, the mudra which is his iconic trademark gesture.
In fact, Rajinikanth’s political plunge isn’t something new. He wanted to enter politics since decades, but at the final moment he backed off. Thalaivar even apologized to the people stating that he cannot start a party given the circumstances especially with corona cases on the rise. He knows everyone will have their say on his decision but, he has made up his mind as he senses it is a warning from God. He added that while shooting with 120 persons for a film despite taking precautions some of them were affected by Corona and in politics, there are lakhs of people involved and it is harmful, hence he withdrew from his decision.
On the other hand, there is no scope for criticizing Rajini because it is his personal decision. How he is going to respond to the people who believed him. Will he only apologise or how he is going to fulfil their aspirations are also important issues?
Earlier, with anger on Jayalalitha, he urged people to vote for DMK. Now he has withdrawn his decision… will he seek votes for another party? This is going to be an interesting topic. No one has the right to dictate him over starting a party but as his followers who waited for him to form the party, he has the responsibility to give directions to them. If he can tell who can do better service to the people, it would appear he is concerned for the people. If he decides to remain silent by not giving support to anyone and remains impartial… then he will definitely dash the hopes of the people.
He came to Hyderabad to shoot a film having announced his plans to start a political party. He had a Corona test and was in home isolation. After fluctuations in BP, he admitted to the hospital. Post-discharge, he left to Chennai and after discussing the issue with his daughters and son in law Dhanush, he announced his decision of staying away from politics.
Referring to fluctuations in BP, Rajinikanth said that it was a warning by god. He is a spiritual man and often visits the Himalayas to see his gurus with bare legs. During the talk of political parties, he said he will bring spiritual politics. It is surprising that he mentioned God’s will. He is not well for many years. Why does he not announce retirement from the film industry as per the gods will? Why does he not say Annaatthe is his last film?
This is a commercial world; he cannot leave his stardom even if God comes and warns him. The income and profits for being a film star and people who depend on him will not allow him to retire. Having a political party is an expensive affair. He may think the gods’ warnings are only for politics and not for his film career.
Anyhow there is a full stop on the political entry of Rajinikanth with his decision. He himself has announced ‘The End’ card for his party. We said Rajinikanth is not an individual but a force… we have to change it to he is not a force but an individual. He cannot be a leader. Party is his personal issue. It is his will to have or not have a party.
