TDP National President Chandrababu Naidu has expressed concerns over the current developments in Amaravati. On the completion of the five years of the foundation stone laying ceremony for the people’s capital on Thursday, he opened up about his aspirations of the futuristic capital, and about the present situation.
In order to overcome the losses due to bifurcation, the capital was taken up with an aim to create wealth for the development of a centre which can take the 13 districts on a progressive path and also provide employment to the youth. He said that the present rulers destroyed the spirit of the speeches which were given by the Prime Minister, the dignitaries from the country and those who came from abroad for the foundation ceremony.
He said that the constructions were designed to meet the needs of future generations and make India proud.
It is painful to see
The capital construction work, which was going on uninterruptedly for the last three and a half years, was stopped abruptly for the last one and half years. It is painful to see Amaravati, a place which was abuzz with thousands of workers, heavy machinery and moving vehicles go silent.
It is nothing but a betrayal of the people who expected the government to fulfil their dreams. This a sacred place in which the soil and waters from various places across the country have been placed. He said every citizen in Andhra Pradesh has the duty to save Amaravati.
Let’s save Amaravati: Nara Lokesh
Andhra Pradesh, which had to face injustice with the division aspired to have a world class capital. When Prime Minister Modi and chief ministers of other states had congratulated the people of Andhra Pradesh, the then opposition leader committed treason against the people of Andhra Pradesh by destroying their dream capital Amaravati.
Had the construction which began five years ago would have continued the entire state would have been in a festive mood today. But, by snatching away that happiness from the people, they have shown their ‘poisonous nature’. At least now, the people of the state should stand united and protect Amaravati.
