Natural Star Nani is the hot topic in Tollywood right now as he is going to become the first major star releasing his movie on OTT. His most awaited thriller ‘V’ will play on Amazon Prime on September 5th. Here are his comments about the upcoming release…
• As ‘V’ is about to release on OTT, it is a totally new experience for me. Frankly speaking, we don’t have any another option now
• It’s purely coincidental working with Indranganati Mohana Krishna on my 25th film. We haven’t changed much from ‘Ashta Chamma’. Even though we don’t meet regularly, we feel that we are constantly in touch with each other and I treat him as my classmate. In ‘V’ you will never see Nani, instead you will see Indraganti Mohana Krishna in me
• People loving me as ‘Natural Star’ makes me feel lucky and I will continue to work hard to reach their expectations in the future too
• ‘V’ is also releasing on the same date on which ‘Ashta Chamma’ released. We don’t have anything to do with it as it is purely Amazon’s decision
• My role is unpredictable in the film. I haven’t done any special homework for this but needed constant discussion with the director before the scenes. People liked my smile in the trailer and I need to clarify that it is not a planned or stylized smile, but just a normal one
• My role will appear throughout the film. I don’t want to reveal anything about it since it will kill the suspense
• Negative roles always attract people that too when done by an actor like me. Even good girls like bad boys like Rana and Sonu Sood!
• ‘V’ should have been released for Ugadi but it didn’t happen. I am waiting for its release from four months and I am glad it is coming at the right time
• Sudheer did a commendable job in the film. I don’t see this as a multi-starrer because I only consider it a movie with two characters. I have even seen my previous film with Nagarjuna in the same light
• ‘V’ is not just a conflict between a cop and a criminal. It follows straight narration with no twists. A criminal enters into the life of a celebrity cop and rest of the story is about what happened next. I can’t say that the criminal is good as he does things in a brutal way. You will know why I did this grey character after you watch the movie
• My son ‘Junnu’ has entertained me a lot during this pandemic. At times, I even felt that Corona came for my sake, to make me spend time with him
• There was much deliberation before we decided to release ‘V’ on OTT. Our producer Dil Raju took circumstances into consideration and agreed for this proposal. He consulted us all and it’s a collective decision
• In circumstances like these, heroes should reduce their remunerations in order to avoid losses based on business. Budgets should also be reduced and we must make sure that producer will be on the safe side
• I generally watch my movies on their first day in Prasad’s. Since it is not possible now, I am arranging a show for my family in a preview theatre. I am not thinking about acting in other languages for now. I love Telugu cinema the most
• I will resume my shoots from October 1st. I have agreed another two projects – ‘Tuck Jagdeesh’ and ‘Shyam Singa Roy’.
• Corona caused unemployment on a massive scale. The only remedy to save all those affected people is to start working. Actors should come to a decision and accept the present situation as we are now aware of the pandemic. We can’t do anything other than eating and sleeping by staying back in home
• I am confident that ‘V’ reaches the audiences of B and C centres too. As everyone is now watching movies on their mobile phones, I hope it will entertain them
