Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon will reportedly portray the role of Sita in the upcoming Prabhas starrer Adipurush. The Om Raut directorial will feature rebel star Prabhas playing Lord Ram, whereas Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan would play Lankesh, the antagonist in the movie. The upcoming magnum opus is a story that ‘celebrates the victory of good over evil’, and it is scheduled to release on 11 August 2022. Many lead actresses from Telugu and Hindi film industries were in contention for the Sita role. The list of actresses includes Anushka Shetty, Anushka Sharma, Keerthy Suresh, and Kiara Advani. Finally, the moviemakers have stuck with Kriti Sanon as they expect her to play the role with grace and dignity.
The bilingual film will be simultaneously shot in Hindi and Telugu and dubbed into Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. The film is co-produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-series and Om Raut. Notably, the epic movie Adi Purush marks the third collaboration between Bhushan Kumar and Prabhas after Sahoo and Radhe Shyam movies. The 3D action-drama will go on floors starting from January 2021.
