Law and order has now become a key issue as election date nears in the Greater. The heat has increased with MIM joining the war of words which was limited to TRS and BJP. The three parties have taken over the campaign by using words like removal, warnings and cautioning. While the BJP is targeting the TRS and MIM, the MIM is targeting TRS and BJP. The TRS is only targeting the BJP. The religion has taken a centre stage in the campaign. While the BJP is alleging that the TRS was doing injustice to Hindus, the TRS says that the BJP cannot campaign without bringing religious politics.
Surgical Strike creates a furore
The comments of BJP president Bandi Sanjay that there were Rohingyas in Old City and if there is a BJP mayor, they would take up surgical strikes have created a furore in the Old City. Later, Akbaruddin Owaisi raked up the issue of removing the graves of PV Narasimha Rao and NT Rama Rao. Bandi Sanjay reacted sharply and said that his party would raze down MIM party office Darussalam. With the war of words between the BJP and MIM, the TRS became alert. Chief Minister KCR met with the higher officials fearing that unsocial elements in the city might pose threat to law and order.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy asked as to why the chief minister was not arresting the elements even after having information. He said that the ruling party was encouraging the MIM on TRS party. He said that the Centre would act tough if there are any law and order problems in any part of the country. He took the statements of DGP lightly and said that the top cop was reading the script written in Pragati Bhavan. Political analysts say that it would be clear after the elections how people would take the law and order issues and who is good to tackle them effectively.
