Maruti is known for his youth comedies with an adult touch at the beginning of his career. His ‘Ee Rojullo’ and ‘Bus Stop’ became successful at the box office. He is a very close associate of ‘Allu’ family and that landed him a chance to direct Nani’s ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’. This became a blockbuster and Maruti took up Venkatesh’s ‘Babu Bangaram’. It flopped miserably and made Maruti’s focus shift back to midrange heroes.
After his movies with Sharwanand, Naga Chaithanya and Sai Dharam Tej, he is said to have been approached by ‘UV Creations’ to make a movie with Ravi Teja. It would be made with highest budget in Ravi Teja’s career. ‘Mass Maharaja’ is desperately waiting for a hit as all his previous movies became debacles. So Maruti is planning a variety entertainer with all emotions for getting the maximum fun funda out of Ravi Teja. Rumour is that this movie could be a sequel to ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’.
Maruti is said to be mixing the ‘forgetfulness’ factor of ‘BBM’ and OCD problem in ‘Mahanubhavudu’ and devising a character for Ravi Teja. ‘Mass Maharaja’ has already done this kind of role in ‘Kick’ a decade ago. Let’s wait and see whether Maruti can satisfy Ravi Teja’s hunger for a hit or not.
