The current election campaign for the two graduate seats in Telangana is on with the focus entirely on the recruitment agenda and all parties have fielded their candidates for the two MLC seats. Now, the challenges in terms of job creation are counter-challenging. On the other hand, the TRS Working President and Minister KTR released a report saying that they have created 1.32 lakh jobs since 2014. He also commented that he was ready to discuss, in case the report he put up was wrong. Meanwhile, the Opposition groups called for a boycott of the assembly saying that so many jobs were not created. Now, Congress leader Shravan Kumar accepted the challenge and raised concerns at the Telangana Martyrs’ Stupa at Gunpark. Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav too made remarks in this context, which was countered by Congress leaders.

At the same time, there was a war of tweets between KTR and BJP sitting MLC Ramachandra Rao. The sitting MLC candidate Ramachandra Rao challenged the TRS for a debate and tell what the KCR government has done to the unemployed in Osmania. Responding to this on Twitter, KTR tweeted that he would tell what BJP has done to Telangana. Ramachandra Rao, who went to Osmania on Monday morning, tweeted that he was at the Arts College, and questioned where Mr KTR was? The BJP also released a cartoon in this context. Responding to this, KTR tweeted that he was busy collecting the details of BJP’s promises made regarding the 2 crore jobs a year and Rs 15 lakh in Jan Dan’s account. He even sarcastically said that NDA means ‘No Data Available’. Following this, the BJYM resorted to holding a lightning strike at the TPPSC office and the police immediately arrested the protesters. Apart from these, those belonging to other parties, Independents, are also squabbling over the issues related to unemployment.
During elections allegations, counter-accusations, criticisms, counter-criticism are natural. However, the parties have taken the MLC elections seriously as never before. With this, the campaign on unemployment issues has gained momentum. The TRS needs to be vigilant in this election as the public who oppose the KCR government, especially the youth are trying to teach the ruling party a lesson. That is to say, the election campaign is going on with the unemployment problem and the job opportunities agenda. Even the candidates who have won the elections in the graduate constituencies so far have not filed a full report before the voters regarding what they have achieved. All together governments are said to have done what they did.
Few people give clarity on what was said on the problems of the unemployed and when and how they responded. If we take a look closely, millions out there are unemployed. Osmania and Kakatiya Universities have coached two to three times and millions of young people are looking for job notifications. Among them is opposition to the government. An example of this can be mentioned. Opposing Minister Errabelli at Kakatiya University, and trolling a report by KTR speak volumes. Under these circumstances, the ruling party leaders were reluctant to talk about unemployment and job replacement. However, they are confident that they will win. That is to say, lagging behind in terms of job replacement and solution to the problems of the unemployed. There is also talk among political circles that they will win the seats of the respective MLCs formed to work for the solution of their problems. On the whole, elections for graduate MLC seats have become the agenda of political parties.
