As uncertainty is still gripping the film industry, there is nothing concrete about the opening of theatres until now. Nobody knows whether movie buffs will come to theatres or not, even after they get opened. This made several actors and actresses to tread the OTT way. The big stars of Tollywood seem to be nowhere interested to release their flicks on these platforms. Even though Nani tried it with his ‘V’, the result was disastrous. Naga Chaitanya has also reportedly asked his producers to wait and release his upcoming film in theatres rather than going for OTT. His market is good now and the producer has nothing to do but wait.
Chay is currently filming Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Love Story’. Sekhar is in top form with his previous hit ‘Fida’ while Naga Chaitanya is surfing the success tide as his two previous films became blockbusters. So Chay is said to have told the makers to wait for the theatrical release to amass more revenues. Sekhar Kammula has also left the final decision to his hero.
Even ‘RX100’ fame Karthikeya has told his producers to wait until theatres open to release his upcoming ‘Chavu Kaburu Challaga’. But star hero Suriya is going in an entirely different path by releasing his ‘‘Aakasam nee haddura’ in OTT next month. Let’s see which path becomes successful for these star heroes.
