The BJP got another headache in the Tirupati by-election. This is due to the allocation of a glass symbol to the ‘Navataram’ party candidate in the Tirupati by-election. Janasena has not yet been granted party status. Glass glasses were allotted if the Janasena candidate was in the ring. However, as Janasena is not the race, the glass symbol has been allotted to Goda Ramesh Kumar, who is contesting as the ‘Navataram’ party candidate. This started the tension among the BJP as the leaders are worried that the votes will be split.
Janasena has no party status
Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan’s march in Tirupati sparked excitement in the BJP during the public meetings. However, with the allocation of the glass symbol to the ‘Navataram’ party candidate Goda Ramesh Kumar, they are expecting that the votes might cross. Rao Subramaniam, national president of the ‘Navataram’ party, explained that the party had been allotted a glass tumbler to its candidate as no one from the Janasena party was in the fray for the Tirupati by-election.
