Chandoo Mondeti belongs to the younger lot of Tollywood directors who amalgamates concept with commerciality. His debut film Karthikeya, a mystery thriller that was released in 2014 went on to become a super hit. Chandoo’s second film Premam with Naga Chaitanya was the remake of a Malayalam blockbuster which stood as a decent grosser.
His third film Savyasachi became a miserable flop as this psychological thriller proved to be a confusing ride in the auditoriums. While Naga Chaitanya played the protagonist, Tamil star Madhavan donned the villain role for the first time in it.
After this debacle, Chandoo got to the drawing board again and planned a sequel to his earlier super hit Karthikeya. He named it Karthikeya-2 and impressed Nikhil with his narration. The plot revolves around unearthing a mystery of Dvapara Yuga and the makers even released a concept video long before the lockdown.
Nikhil is currently acting in 18 Pages under the direction of Palnati Surya Pratap. As the makers of Karthikeya-2 are ready to start the shoot now, Nikhil has given his nod to simultaneously act in both the films. We wish that Chandoo Mondeti makes Karthikeya-2 more intriguing than its predecessor.
