Every movie has market stamina of its own due to its star’s value, budget, and the pre-release hype it can generate. Nowadays, Telugu movies have also achieved pan Indian status, and thanks to the Bahubali franchise, the gates to international market are wide open and beckoning. When it comes to OTT, we have seen low and medium budget films getting released and performing well according to their budgets. But we are yet to see the real potential of OTT and it can only be gauged when a big star’s movie hits the marquee.
Pawan Kalyan who was on a brief hiatus after contesting in 2019 elections is back to acting with ‘Vakeel Saab’ which is under production (briefly stalled due to COVID19 situation). It is said that he is being paid a whopping Rs.50 crores as remuneration for the official remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s court drama ‘Pink’ which turned out to be a big hit.
Since the opening of theatres is still a distant mirage, the producer is planning to release it on OTT following the many Bollywood big ticket movies that have taken the digital route. Already Nani’s ‘V’ from the same production house is slated for an OTT release and Dil Raju wants to tread the same path if he gets an exciting offer for Pawan’s film.
