Sai Dharam Tej’s rom-com Solo Brathuke So Better became the first star-studded flick to be released in theatres after lockdown. This B.V.S.N Prasad’s production has literally risked it’s everything by daring the release while the 50 percent occupancy rule is prevailing. Let’s see whether it has the mettle to stand as a hit or not.
Plot
Virat (Tej) is a youth who strictly adheres to the principle of living single. As proceedings pass by, he understands the importance of marriage and falls in love with Amrutha(Nabha Natesh). By the time Virat starts longing for love, Amrutha becomes averse to it. The rest of the proceedings unveil how Tej solves this situation.
Analysis
Even though the debutant director Subbu became successful in designing the characterization of the hero, he should have established the circumstances that made the hero turn to single life for added depth. SBSB’s first half is almost a bump-free ride and the second half does anything but good to sustain the interest factor.
Vennela Kishore and Sathya’s comedy is good to an extent. Tej played his role with aplomb and portrayed emotions in a convincing manner to the auditorium. Nabha Natesh proved her acting skills once again and has done complete justice to her role. Senior actor Rajendra Prasad proved what seniority and experience can bring to a film with his character. Thaman’s re-recording is an additional asset to the film.
Highlights
Director Subbu sugar-coated an underlying message which says the importance of having a companion with a lighter vein of proceedings. He stresses that the real happiness in life can be experienced when it is shared with someone other than living alone. Dialogues never went overboard and are apt to the plot.
