The Indian government has decided to have a trial run of the Covid vaccine prior to initiating a mass vaccination drive pan India. For this the states of Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat and Assam have been chosen on a pilot basis. As soon as the news was received, the AP government directed all ASHA workers and nurses to remain prepared. While Krishna district has been selected for the trial run, the AP government has instructed to make all necessary arrangements in all six government hospitals and medical colleges.
Six lakh people to be vaccinated
The situation in London has turned worse with the new strain having increased transmission rate in the country. Even the UK government has increased the vaccination drive and has announced having six lakh people with the Pfizer vaccine. As per the official figures of the UK government around 6,16,933 Britons have been injected with the first dose of Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine. The UK government also expressed its gratitude to the officials of the National Health Service for their efforts in the speedy delivery of the vaccine.

The first case of new Coronavirus strain in France
The discovery of the new Coronavirus strain has left people across the world worried. As expected, the transmission of the new variant has gone beyond borders, with France having registered its first case. According to the French Health Ministry, an asymptomatic Frenchman who arrived from England tested positive. The person has been identified and is being investigated for more details so that contact tracing could be carried out.
Group vaccination underway in Mexico
The US government has approved the emergency use of its Pfizer vaccine and has already vaccinated several of its citizens on a war footing. In addition, top political leaders in the US are being inoculated on live TV to quell the fear among the general public regarding the vaccine. Recently, Mexico too joined the United States in carrying out mass vaccination. The vaccine drive commenced with the inoculation of a 59-yr old nurse on live TV and arrangements were made by the Mexican authorities to administer the vaccine to over 3,000 people in a single day.
