Somu Veerraju has made it clear that Amaravati should remain the sole capital adding that as a representative of Modi, he stands by what he said. Though he is in a situation where he can stop the three capital proposals of CM YS Jagan, he has remained mum on all key issues in the state. On the contrary, Somu Veerraju has always been targeting the TDP, while merely criticising the YSRCP instead of a direct attack. Even, BJP national spokesperson and RS MP GVL Narasimha Rao had criticised the YSRCP government of promoting Christian religion. While another BJP leader Sunil Deodhar says there is no security for temples in AP. However, the AP BJP chief does not speak about all these allegations.
It appears that the BJP does not want the anti-government votes to go to the TDP. The strategy appears to be dividing the anti-government votes between TDP, BJP so that it will benefit Jagan. This means the BJP is trying to play the role of the opposition but at the same time indirectly supporting Jagan in all possible ways.
Somu Veerraju says they would develop Amaravati with Rs 5,000 crore and also states that Amaravati should be retained as the capital. Though people in the region may find some solace, with the BJP leader’s claims, Jagan continues with his plans to shift to Vizag. Somu Veerraju who does not come in the way of Jagan’s decision is posing as if he was doing something good for the people.
