Sunil is a versatile actor who achieved the star comedian status many years ago. He shifted to hero roles after tasting success with Rajamouli’s ‘Maryada Ramanna’. But success deserted him and all his films, except a couple of them, failed miserably at the box office. So he has gone back to playing comedy roles and does lead roles now and then. But this journey on two boats is not doing any good to his career. He has apparently decided to try his luck in full-fledged villain roles now.
Sunil has already played a character with grey shades in Ravi Teja’s ‘Disco Raja’ which was not received well by the audiences. He is portraying an out and out villain character in his upcoming film ‘Colour Photo’ and its teaser garnered good reviews. Sunil’s latest project with Harish Shankar ‘Vedantam Raghavayya’ also features him in a negative character. Harish Shankar is penning the story for this film while ’14 Reels +’ banner is producing it. Along with this, there is another upcoming big budget project that is going to showcase Sunil in the villain role. This project is said to be designed especially for Sunil and the remaining details about it will be revealed soon. In many of his past interviews, Sunil said that he likes to act in negative characters more than doing comedy or hero roles. Let’s see whether this new career move by Sunil lands him in the leading spot once again or not.
