TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has criticized YSRCP leaders for creating anarchy with forced consensus, saying he had never seen such a fraudulent election, adding it is a broad daylight murder of democracy and law. He made the remarks while addressing a press conference in the party headquarters on Thursday. In Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy’s constituency of Punganur which has around 83 Panchayats, the elections were held only in three panchayats. In certain locations, the nominations were not allowed, while in other places officials were forced to reject the nominations. Shockingly! In Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy’s brother who’s an MLA of Thamballapalle, which has 22 Panchayats, unanimous elections were held forcefully. On the other hand, in 76 panchayats out of 77 panchayats in Macherla constituency it is being shown that unanimous elections were held. With the backing of top police officials, several nominations were also blocked with the ruling party intimidating candidates backed by the opposition. However, the TDP supremo said that this would not deter them and that they would make a strong comeback.
The TDP National President also said that the elections in the above mentioned three constituencies need to be cancelled and re-elections should be held. He added that central forces need to be deployed in these places and special observers need to monitor the elections. He said that SEC needs to look into these atrocities when the broad daylight murder of democracy and law is taking place, instead of simply conducting polls. Chandrababu Naidu even questioned the silence of the Governor.
