The Nehru Zoological park named one of the three cubs, born to Royal Bengal Tigress “Asha”, as “Santosh” in honour of Late Colonel Santosh Babu who laid down his life fighting the Chinese forces in Galwan.
The gesture was done on the occasion of 74th Independence Day. Meanwhile, the other two cubs are named “Sankalp” and “Surya”.
The Zoo Curator, N Kshitija, hoisted the national flag at the administrative building in the presence of the administrative, veterinary and field staff of the zoo. “I appreciate the efforts of the zoo staff for their untiring efforts to make the zoo one of the best in the country,” said Kshitija.
