YSRCP MLA from Sattenapalle constituency Ambati Rambabu is facing a revolt from his own party leaders as they approached the High Court alleging that the former indulged in illegal mining at Kondamodu in Rajupalem mandal of Guntur district. Adding to this another scam too has now surfaced, a close aide of the MLA and Sattenapalle market yard chairman Ravipati Purushottam has been allegedly digging red sand without permission. This led the villagers to raise a protest against the MLA and led to a conflict between YSRCP supporters and the farmers. Cases under SC/ST Atrocities Act have also been booked against those who assaulted and stopped the driver of the market yard chairman. On the other hand, non-bailable cases were booked against four persons. With SC/ST atrocities cases filed against own party leaders, the YSRCP leaders are furious with Ambati.
The Reddy community which enjoys a strong presence in both the mandals have totally turned against Ambati Rambabu. Many of them from the community, who had expected tickets in the previous elections are still not in good terms with Ambati. Now, their plan is to get rid of the MLA from the constituency for better chances in the upcoming elections.
It is said that the Reddy community had filed cases in the High Court. against Ambati, which led to the latter restrict himself to Guntur and his brother Murali taking over the responsibility. With this, there are signals that Ambati would have to select another constituency next time.
However, the YSRCP leaders are unhappy that atrocity cases were booked against them. They have decided to take the issue to the high command. The YSRCP leaders with much fanfare made arrangements for the inauguration of 4,500 TIDCO houses which were constructed during the TDP rule. However, the contractor who constructed the houses asked the MLA to first pay the bills and then enter into the houses. Unable to understand what needs to be done, Ambati left the scene. Also, they are in no situation to release the Rs 9,000 crore pending TIDCO bills. Though the beneficiaries were given possession certificates, they are in no position to enter their houses.
