It seems that Trump is in no mood to leave ‘Namo Modi’ mantra any soon. As the presidential polls reached their final phase, Trump is leaving no stone unturned to attract the votes of NRIs by chanting the Modi mantra. As per political analysts, Democratic Party candidate Jo Biden is said to have a slight edge over Trump. But as we all know that Trump is a fighter and he can rise from his own ashes like a phoenix bird.
A couple of failures that are making Trump trail behind are ineffective handling of the COVID-19 situation and stopping the issuance of H1B Visas. These two problems coupled with the murder of a black national George Floyd turned the heat on Trump’s administration. Despite all his image building measures, Trump is said to have lost the vote share of settlers in USA. So in order to compensate that, Trump is banking on the votes of citizens of Indian origin who have a sizeable presence in the states.
Recently Trump Government backed India on Galvan issue and is sending positive signals that it will mend the H1B issue in favor of the Indian community. Modi and Trump’s friendship goes long way back and the Indian PM is vocal about his support for Trump. We all have to wait and see whether the Indian community believes in Trump’s sugar filled promises and vote for him this time. Fingers crossed!
