Every film which collects a rupee more than its budget is said to be a successful film in the language of trade pundits. So there will be no more than 5 to 6 films that generate profits for its makers in TFI every year. Some films remain as cost failures even after garnering hit talk because of over budgets.
UV Creations hold a special place in the history of Telugu cinema as they are instrumental in taking it to the next level with exorbitant budgets. But sources say that they are now focusing on producing small budget films like ‘Run Raja Run’ and ‘Express Raja’ which stood as blockbusters considering their miniscule making expenditure. They also produced ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ and ‘Taxiwala’ in association with GA2 pictures and experienced success. But their ultra high budget action flick made them incur heavy losses as high as Rs.250 crores and they are finding no other way than producing small films to cover those losses.
Their upcoming ‘Radhe Shyam’ is also being made on a very high budget and if sources are to be believed, they are planning to make a small budget movie with a director named Deepak Reddy. He directed a short film called ‘Manasanamaha’ which caught the attention of UV creations. So fans have to wait for some more time for Prabhas to act in his home banner after Radhe Shyam.
