TDP has recently announced parliamentary constituency committees. Leaving out both the sitting MLAs from those committees in Visakhapatnam has become a hot topic in party circles. Of the two MLAs, while one has been waiting to jump into the ruling YSRCP, the other is considered a staunch loyalist of the party.
Of the four MLAs who were elected on TDP ticket in Vizag city, Vizag South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh has already defected to YSRCP. TDP has entrusted responsibilities to West MLA Ganababu. But the remaining two, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Velagapudi Ramakrishna, have been left out.
There is no wonder in leaving out Ganta as his attempts to join the ruling party are open secret. Questions are being raised as to why Ramakrishna has not been given any responsibilities. On the other hand, both former MLAs Bandaru Satyanrayana Murthy and Palla Srinivasa Rao have been given posts. Questions are being asked why the party leadership is not using the services of Velagapudi Ramakrishna, who would always be in the forefront in taking up party programmes.
In fact, Ramakrishna himself is said to have requested Chandrababu Naidu not to give him any responsibility. He told the party chief that he cannot do justice to the party posts in view of his work as MLA.
There have been reports that YSRCP is trying to bring Velagapudi Ramakrisna too into its fold with the help of Kodali Nani. The party leaving him out of parliamentary committees has led to speculation in this background, but it is reliably learnt that the party has not given him any post only on his request.
