The YSRCP lacks proper strength in the AP Legislative Council, as the TDP with majority members exercises its dominion. In order to tackle this, CM YS Jagan decided to give the responsibility of the council to Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, who is known for his skill of juggling numbers. He has been entrusted with the job of leading the YSRCP in the Council. It is learnt that Jagan did not even wait for a response from the current Minister of Finance. Speculation among political circles is that the Minister is reluctant to take the post. However, government advisor Sajjala intervened and persuaded him by saying that Sattenna would take care and that only his presence in the house was needed.
Half of YSRCP Ministers in Legislative Council
Ministers can sit in whichever House they want. Hence the YSRCP chief placed most of the ministers in the Council. It is learnt that the chief minister has decided to deploy those ministers who can talk without clarity. He has entrusted the responsibility to Botsa and Anil Kumar, who are known for giving lengthy speeches and making sure the voice of TDP is not heard.
It is a common scene that the ruling party leaders in AP Assembly and Council indulge in critical comments. The political analysts are saying that the ruling party leaders are unable to give strong replies to the TDP members who are just 18 in the house. They are not answering the questions of the TDP members but making comments which are said to be mentally affecting them.
The comments of the AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on the crop insurance led to an intense debate. Kanna Babu, the Agricultural Minister said that the premium for the crop insurance was paid. What is the point if the premium is paid or not paid, the AP CM questioned? To this, the YSRCP said that the leader of the opposition has gone mad and he needs to be shifted to a mental hospital. They can stop the leaders from talking in Assembly and Council but people are listening to them. It is quite visible that the ruling party leaders are trying to save their posts.
