The TRS is in a total shock especially with the loss in Dubbaka by-poll and especially with the outcome of the GHMC elections wherein it couldn’t win the expected number of seats. Speculations among political circles are that CM KCR is chalking out a new strategy in order to face the rising dissent against the TRS among the public. Now, two topics have come to the fore – Firstly to promote YSRCP in Telangana extensively in the state by backing YS Jaganmohan Reddy and secondly a federal front in order to fight against the BJP and the Congress.
Sharmila’s walkathon
When YS Jaganmohan Reddy had been jailed in the disproportionate assets case, his younger sister YS Sharmila has launched a 3000 km walkathon, which also included Telangana. It is known that YS Jagan fans and many of those belonging to the specific community reside in Telangana. So, the TRS plans to benefit from the fact that YSRCP would help split the votes from going to the BJP and the Congress. However, it is to be noted that these are just speculations and an official word from the party is still awaited. On the other hand, for the YSRCP to make an entry into Telangana a few hurdles do exist.
