The YSRCP government has given a big shocker to volunteers who were recruited in Andhra Pradesh for delivering its schemes to the doorsteps of households, especially as part of its Navarathnalu styled governance. A Government Order has been released which states that all Joint Collectors need to direct the concerned Municipal Commissioners and Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDO) to identify and terminate those volunteers who are below eighteen years and above thirty-five years, on an immediate basis.
It has come to the notice of the government that despite the specified instructions there were violations in the recruitment of volunteers with many of them recruited in violation of the 1st and 2nd orders issued earlier. Also, there were complaints from volunteers stating that despite having rendered services for over a year they were not given payments. It is known that the YSRCP government having assumed power had recruited volunteers irrespective of caste/creed/religion/ gender and political affiliation to ensure that all government schemes were implemented in every household, in an effort to weed out corruption and thereby improve transparency.
