Though an official announcement is yet awaited. Sources aware of the matter state that the Union Budget 2021-2022 will be presented by the Union Finance Minister on February 1st and the Parliamentary budget session would commence from January 29th. It is learnt that the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) is in favour of holding the Budget session Part- 1 from January 29th to February 15th, while Part 2 is expected to be held between March 8th and April 8th.
The Budget 2021 is expected to focus on issues related to growth especially in dealing with the brunt caused due to Coronavirus induced lockdown in 2020 that affected all segments of the economy, including revenue collection, disinvestment, exports and food prices.
“I am conscious that the forthcoming Budget will have a vibrancy that is so required for the economy’s revival, sustainable revival. We shall definitely sustain the momentum of public spending in infrastructure. Because that is the one way, we assure that the multipliers will work and the economy’s revival will be sustainable,” the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said earlier when asked about 2021 budget.
