Shamna Kasim who is known by her stage name Poorna is acting in films for the last 15 years. This talented actress never reached the top brass due to the lack of success. She became well known to Telugu audiences with Ravi Babu’s Avunu which was released in 2012. Ravi encouraged Poorna by reprising her as a heroine in his films Laddu Babu and Avunu 2 which became flops.
But talent and acting prowess made Poorna constantly bag offers and she has pinned all her hopes on the upcoming film Sundari. The plot of this film revolves around a naive woman who turns into a powerful character due to the circumstances. The film’s team is confident that Poorna’s performance in the titular role will fetch her that much-needed blockbuster hit in her career.
Poorna is reportedly doing one of the female leads in Balayya-Boyapati’s film. This would be her first big film in Tollywood and she is confident that this film would turn the fortunes for her. Apart from these two films, Poorna is essaying the role of V.K Sasikala in Jayalalithaa’s biopic Thalaivi. It is made in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil which is directed by A.L Vijay. Kangana Ranaut is playing the role of Jayalalithaa in this most ambitious project. Poorna is also playing the female lead in another Tamil film named Visiththiram.
