With the BJP having gained momentum in Telangana for its wonderful performance in the Greater Hyderabad elections, the party high command has now shifted its focus on rural areas. State president Bandi Sanjay has taken the responsibility to strengthen the party in all districts, especially in those regions where it lacks presence. He is trying to visit all districts within a seven-day span and has prepared an action plan for the same.
The party has some sort of presence in South Telangana. Though the party had cadre, it is not active. The party wants to increase confidence among the cadre by making the president visit Narayanpet district. He is going to use this tour to talk to the farmers and explain to them the benefits of the new Farm Acts in wake of protests. The party has some strength in Narayanpet but there is no leader to take them forward and with the entry of Sanjay, the cadre would get the required energy, said the party leaders.
It is said that Sanjay is going to visit Karimnagar wherein the ruling party enjoys a strong vote base. It has to be seen how his visit goes in the constituency of TRS working president KT Rama Rao. Already, party leaders Dharmapuri Arvind and Sanjay have claimed to defeat KTR. The TRS has good hold here and it has to be seen whether the BJP cadre can defeat the TRS or not. During the previous elections, the TRS won in Medak, Rangareddy districts and became strong and Sanjay has now decided to strengthen the party in these districts also. Sanjay is slated to visit Vikarabad on December 23. The party leaders are confident that this strategy will definitely strengthen the BJP in Vikarabad.
Later in the month, the Telangana BJP chief is scheduled to visit Nalgonda too. The party leaders believe this would have an impact on the Nagarjuna Sagar byelection. It will be interesting to see how the people in the districts welcome Sanjay during the tour.
