In the wake of the approaching GHMC elections, Telangana BJP skipper Bandi Sanjay mulls going on a march to further strengthen the party in the twin cities. According to political circles, a decision to this effect seems to have been taken on Sunday following a meeting with key party leaders. Also, Bandi Sanjay’s padayatra proposal received a positive response from senior BJP elders. The party believes that the move will definitely benefit them, however, there seems to be a confusion over the route map.
A key meeting of leaders was held at the BJP office on Sunday. State BJP President Bandi Sanjay chaired the GHMC Election Management Committee meeting which was attended by MoS Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy, National Vice President of the BJP DK Aruna, National President for Bharatiya Janata Party’s OBC Morcha Dr K Laxman, Polsani Muralidhar Rao and other leaders. The BJP leader in the meeting were busy strategizing to repeat the Dubbaka magic and counter the TRS in the upcoming GHMC polls. It is known that the TRS post the Dubbaka loss had announced many sops and even officially allied with the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) party.
As part of preparing for the Greater Elections, Bandi Sanjay appointed various committees. Dr K Laxman will be the GHMC Election Management Committee convener, former BJP MPs G Vivekanand and Garikapati Mohan Rao, former MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy will be the joint conveners and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy will be the chairman. While Rajya Sabha member Bhupender Yadav has been appointed as the chairman of the National Committee for Greater Elections, Ashish Shelar as the vice-chairman, Pradeep Kumar Singh from Gujarat and M Satish Reddy from Karnataka as members.
BJP leader Dr K Laxman says that the party is ready to face the Baldia elections whenever they are held and the focus of their campaign would be to end the corruption of TRS corporators. He added the term of office of the ruling party ends on February 10th, and that none of the sops announced by the TRS will work. Laxman said the BJP was likely to strengthen further if the Greater polls were delayed due to the Dubbaka poll victory, and that Owaisi and KCR should explain their midnight conspiracies to the public. In other words, the BJP is ready to face elections whenever they are held.
