With the Dubbaka by-election heat ending, the BJP is now focusing on the Greater Hyderabad elections. Though there are many leaders in BJP, the party never achieved desired results so far. The four MLAs could not ensure the victory of corporators in their constituencies and were restricted to one seat in the Assembly. Prominent leaders Lakshman and Kishan Reddy too lost. However, Kishan Reddy managed to win from the Secunderabad Lok Sabha and is discharging his duties as a Union Minister. The party hopes to regain its past glory in the run-up to the Greater elections.
Sanjay activating cadre at field level
The plan of four presidents has already been applied to gain a foothold in Greater Hyderabad. The BJP sketched out a plan in Hyderabad that worked out in several cities across the country. However, grassroots activists are concerned that the new presidents of Greater Hyderabad have not done enough groundwork so far. They are expressing their anger at the absence of their leaders on the ground when the TRS is distributing Rs 10,000 towards flood relief. State president Bandi Sanjay is now focusing on the Greater elections. The presidents were strictly ordered to stay on the field and fight on public issues. He wants them to utilise the opposition of people against TRS on flood relief. He even said that the TRS forgot its promises towards Greater Telangana in the last five years, and explained about the benefits of voting for the BJP.
BJP has already invited applications
The BJP has given an opportunity to those who want to contest in the Greater Hyderabad elections. It has asked the interested people to submit their applications at the BJP offices. The matter was left entirely on the district president and the process speeded up. On the other hand, the state leadership plans to ensure that the winning horses are given a ticket without any complacency in the selection of candidates. It seems that the state leaders have warned the district presidents to be cautious in this regard. It seems that clear instructions were given to the leaders to ensure all should strive hard and make the Saffron flag fly high in the Greater polls.
While TRS is going to polls with flood relief. BJP looks to start its journey from the first step. It remains to be seen what the outcome will be in this election.
