Ravi Belagere (62), a renowned Kannada actor, journalist and Editor of ‘Hai Bangalore’ passed away due to cardiac arrest at 2:30 AM Friday. He was survived by two wives and four children. Belagere also ran a highly reputed educational institution ‘Prarthana’ in Bengaluru South. Several politicians including KPCC President DK Shivakumar condoled the demise of the noted Kannada journalist and author. Ravi had published nearly 50 books and even anchored programmes apart from having acted in films – Ganda Hendathi (2006) and Deadly Soma (2005).
Belagere had hogged the limelight for having hired contract killers to murder his colleague Sunil Heggaravalli, over suspicions of the latter having an affair with his second wife. This led to Ravi being arrested by the Crime Branch in 2017 and was later granted bail in the case.
