The brutal murder of lawyer couple Gattu Vaman Rao and his wife Nagamani by unidentified miscreants in broad daylight at Telangana’s Peddapalli district has turned sensational. As per reports, the incident occurred at 2.30 pm on Wednesday, on the Manthani -Peddapalli highway around 16 kms from Manthani town. In a massive protest over the murders, the Telangana High Court Advocates Association on Thursday called for a boycott of their duties throughout the state, and have demanded the CM KCR led government to provide them protection under the ‘Advocate Protection Act’. The couple Vaman Rao and Nagamani were practising in Telangana High Court.
Videos of the brutal murder have been shared on social media sites, wherein Vaman Rao can be seen lying in a pool of blood, while his wife is seen lying motionless in the car. A passer-by recording the video is seen asking Vaman Rao as to who was behind the attacks, to which he is seen revealing the name of the culprit. However, the couple were declared dead by the time they were rushed to the hospital.
It is learnt that six police teams have been deployed to nab the murderers and a case has been registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to police, the miscreants who committed the crime are suspected to be professional killers.
