Controversial director RGV’s Murder hit the theatres today despite Amrutha’s numerous appeals to the court to stall its release. This film is based on the killing of Pranay in Miryalaguda by Amrutha’s father Maruthi Rao. Let’s see whether it has what it takes to be a decent fare or not.
Plot
Madhava Rao(Srikanth Iyengar) is an orthodox family man who dwells on principles. Both Rao and his wife Vanaja(Gayatri Bhargavi) raise their daughter Namrata(Sahiti) according to their customs. But she shocks them by marrying Praveen. Rao gets flabbergasted by this move which makes him go to the extreme extent of killing Praveen. The rest of the story constitutes about the arising situations resulting from his decision.
Analysis
RGV hasn’t directed Murder which is the biggest saving grace of the film. Even though everybody knows about the Miryalaguda incident, director Anand Chandra made the proceedings on the screen interesting with his screenplay. It appears that this young director inclined a wee bit more towards the parents rather than the young couple.
Srikanth Iyengar infused a breath of freshness into his Madhava Rao role and became successful in amassing people’s sympathy despite his extreme decision. He portrayed the emotions of a father extremely well. Gayatri Bhargavi has done justice to his wife’s role.
Sahiti as Namrata played her part with aplomb and the director became largely triumphant in extracting performances from the cast. Re-recording took the film to a whole new level
