The vandalism on temples in AP continues, with the tally of attacks surpassing 148. Just before one could forget the Lord Ram idol’s vandalism at the Ramatheertham temple, the miscreants targeted three temples. Recently, the Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Singarayakonda of Prakasam district was attacked and idols destroyed. Devotees filed a complaint with the police on noticing damages to the idol placed atop the entrance arch. Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
Temples in danger across AP
Already the YSRCP government is facing a massive outrage from the public and the opposition for its failure to curb vandalism of temples. Amidst these protests, miscreants have vandalised three temples. In this context, Hindu organisations have requested AP Police to beef up security at all places of worship in the state. Recently, Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji too strongly criticised the attacks on Hindu temples in AP.
