The Women JAC leaders of Amaravati have expressed their solidarity to the farmers protesting in Delhi, demanding the withdrawal of the contentious farm laws. Having met Bharatiya Kisan Union leader, Rakesh Tikait at the Singhu, Tikri borders the JAC leaders supported the agitation of the farmer unions. Later, the BKU Chief was apprised of the hardships faced by the Amaravati farmers. Having learnt about the troubles of Amaravati farmers, Tikait assured that he would visit the Amaravati Capital Region once the ongoing protests conclude.
Delhi style agitation in Amaravati?
The Women JAC leaders of Amaravati and Dalit women JAC leaders have begun their efforts to launch an agitation similar to the ongoing Delhi farmers’ protest in the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region. For this, the JAC leaders extended their support to the farmers’ protest in Delhi and are trying to lead a movement like them in the capital of Amravati. There are plans to rope in farm union leaders to Amaravati once the AP Gram Panchayat Elections are concluded in order to launch a massive movement in the state.
