The drugs issue that started in Bollywood has reached the Telugu Film Industry now. Rhea Chakraborthy was earlier arrested in Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case by Narcotics Control Bureau recently due to her ties with the drug dealers. Sources say that Rhea revealed the names of various celebrities during her investigation which included Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh. Netizens immediately started their troll-war on Rakul. Even though an official from NCB said that Sara and Rakul’s names are not in the list revealed by Rhea, media never stopped bringing up their names.
Rakul Preet Singh’s silence is irking her fans as they believe that this behaviour would raise further doubts in public. Rakul recently approached Delhi High Court with a petition requesting to stop broadcasting news about her. She requested the apex court to order Broadcasting department to immediately stop stories about her on TV channels. Justice Chawla bench which is looking into Rakul’s petition has said the Supreme Court has already made its stand on broadcasting. The bench advised the concerned departments to take her petition as a complaint and ordered them to initiate action.
The bench gave notices to the Department of Information and Broadcasting, Press Council and NBA in this regard. Delhi High Court even suggested Rakul’s counsel to lodge complaints against media channels which played the news about her. We have to wait and see what action will officials initiate on channels and individuals who became the reason for Rakul’s mental torture.
