As told earlier, Okkadu fame Gunasekhar has released the update about his upcoming film exactly at 7:11 PM on Friday. It is called Shakuntalam which is based on a story from the AdiParva of Mahabharata epic. Shakuntalam portrays the love story of Dushyanta and Shakuntala in Gunasekhar’s imaginative style.
If not for lockdown, Gunasekhar would have started his Hiranyakashyapa based on Lord Vishnu’s Narasimha avatar. It is reported that he has completed its pre-production work during lockdown. Since it needs humongous sets and large number of cast and crew to work, the makers thought it would be better to postpone shooting until the pandemic subsides. Hence, Gunasekhar took up Shakuntalam and will finish it before shooting Hiranyakashyapa begins. Mani Sharma is composing tunes for Shakuntalam and Neelima Guna is presenting it. Gunasekhar uploaded the motion poster of it on his Twitter handle for this yet to be casted film.
