The industry hit of Okkadu in 2003 made Mahesh Babu a superstar. M.S Raju produced this blockbuster under the Sumanth Art Productions banner and Gunasekhar helmed the megaphone for it. After a long hiatus from the films, Raju is now back with an adult comedy named Dirty Hari.
He is so confident about its success and wants to produce films continuously on his banner from now. Okkadu was a special film for Raju as it made Sumanth Arts a star banner. It was remade in Tamil as Gilli with Vijay and Trisha and became a super hit. Okkadu’s Hindi, Kannada, and Bengali remakes also became sensational hits.
After all these years Raju is planning to make a sequel to it and is prompting his team to pen a script. He expressed his desire to meet Mahesh and narrate the script and is sure that he can impress the latter with it. Even though Mahesh agrees to it, Gunasekhar who is busy with two Pan-Indian flicks Hiranya Kashyapa and Shakuntalam cannot allocate his time.
Apart from the director issue, no sequel in Telugu became successful and Mahesh’s kitty is full of projects. M.S Raju needs to be damn lucky to materialize this project.
