TDP has been following the tradition of not fielding the candidate when the seat falls vacant due to the death of a sitting member. If the party follows the same rule in case of Tirupati too, the fight will be between BJP-Janasena alliance and YSRCP.
YSRCP facing defeat?
It is believed that the YSRCP is staring at defeat in the Tirupati bypoll, as serial attacks on Hindu temples have caused immense damage to the reputation of the party. People are angry at Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy violating declaration form rule at Tirumala. All these are likely to have an adverse impact on the party’s poll prospects.
On the other hand, BJP and Janasena are working with unity to wrest the seat from the YSRCP. TDP is also strong in the constituency, but may not contest. If TDP decides to contest, it will be an interesting triangular battle with an edge for TDP. BJP leaders are confident that they will open an account in Lok Sabha from Tirupati. Let’s see what turn the politics will take in the run up to the poll.
